About the England Collection

England's landscape is quieter than the Alps. There are no 4,000-metre summits, no glaciers, no cable cars to altitude. What there is instead is a particular quality of green, a softness in the light, and a kind of stillness in the landscape that is genuinely its own thing. The Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales are two of the most distinctive stretches of countryside in Europe, and both reward the kind of patient, early-morning photography that produces fine art prints worth keeping.

This collection brings together prints from both regions. The Yorkshire Dales prints focus on the limestone pavements, lone trees, and long valley views that characterise the Dales landscape. The Lake District prints cover the lakes — Derwentwater, Buttermere — and the fells that rise above them, including the distinctive profile of the Old Man of Coniston.

"England's landscape is quieter than the Alps. What it offers instead is a particular quality of green and a stillness that is genuinely its own thing."

These are prints for people who know these places — or who want to. For anyone who has walked the Dales, driven through Cumbria at dawn, or simply loves the look of English countryside light on limestone, there is something here.

Yorkshire Dales

Twistleton Scars, Yorkshire Dales

The limestone scars above Ingleton at first light — every texture and contour visible in the pale pastel dawn. One of the most distinctive landscapes in England, and one of the strongest prints in the collection.

Lake District

Lone Tree at Derwentwater, Cumbria

A single tree at the edge of Derwentwater in the still of early morning. The kind of image that works in almost any room — calm, rooted, and quietly beautiful.

From the Field

Every print in this collection started with an early alarm and a drive through dark country lanes. England's landscape rewards patience in a way that is easy to underestimate. The light moves fast here — faster than the Alps, where the scale of the mountains holds the dawn for longer. In the Dales and the Lake District, you have a narrow window and then it is gone.

Twistleton Scars, April: On a crisp April morning at Twistleton Scars, the first pastel light of dawn caught the limestone outcrops and revealed every texture and contour in perfect clarity. The limestone pavement was still wet with dew. The lone tree to the east was backlit for about four minutes. Those are the minutes this collection was built around.

The Lake District prints came from a different kind of patience — waiting for the wind to drop on Derwentwater, for the cloud to clear above Coniston, for the Buttermere reflections to settle into something worth photographing. The fells move slower than the limestone light in the Dales, but the conditions that produce a genuinely still lake reflection are rare enough that when they happen, you know it immediately.

About the Prints

Every print in the England collection is an unframed fine art giclée, produced on 200gsm premium matte FSC-certified paper. The off-white, uncoated surface gives landscapes a natural, painterly quality that suits the softer palette of English countryside photography particularly well.

Prints are produced locally in over 32 countries, meaning your order doesn't travel across the world to reach you. Production takes 1 to 2 business days; delivery takes 3 to 9 business days worldwide. All prints are unframed — you source the frame locally to suit your space. A framing guide is available on the site.

Styling note: England landscape prints tend to suit natural wood frames — light oak or pale ash — rather than dark or black frames. The soft greens, warm limestone tones, and pale lake light of these prints work best alongside materials that echo the landscape itself. A white or cream mat board adds depth without competing with the image.
Frequently Asked Questions
The collection covers two main regions: the Yorkshire Dales, including Twistleton Scars, the Ingleborough lone tree, and Ribblehead Viaduct; and the Lake District, including Derwentwater, Buttermere, Tewet Tarn, and the Old Man of Coniston. New locations are added as the collection grows.
Very much so. A print of somewhere someone has lived, grown up near, or regularly walks makes one of the most personal gifts available. Derwentwater, Buttermere, the Yorkshire Dales — these are places with deep personal associations for many people. Gift cards are also available if you want the recipient to choose their own print.
No, all prints are unframed. This keeps the price fair and lets you choose a frame that suits your interior. All prints are standard dimensions, making framing straightforward at any high street framer or online framing service. A framing guide is available on the site.
Prints are available from 5x7" (13x18cm) up to A0. Inch sizing for US and Canada; centimetre sizing elsewhere. For a bedroom above the bed, A2 or A1 in landscape orientation works well. For a hallway or smaller wall, A3 or A4 portrait prints are a clean choice.
Prints are produced locally — orders for UK customers are printed in the UK. Production takes 1 to 2 business days; delivery takes 3 to 9 business days. You will receive tracking information once your order is dispatched.
