in Your Home

Nothing transforms a room like the serenity and energy of the natural world. The right landscape print can anchor a space, spark a conversation, or simply give you somewhere to let your eyes rest at the end of the day. Here's how to choose, style, and display yours well.

"The right nature print doesn't just fill a wall — it changes how the whole room feels."

1

Select Prints That Complement Your Space

Match your palette. Neutral interiors pair well with black-and-white photography or soft-green forest scenes. Bold walls can handle vibrant alpine sunsets or turquoise lake views.

Get the size right. Large walls call for 20×30″+ statement prints. Cosy corners work well with an 8×10″ or a trio of 11×14″ cluster frames.

Set the mood you want.

  • Calm & cosy: misty forests, gentle sea waves, still lake reflections
  • Dramatic & bold: jagged peaks, storm-lit skies, exposed ridgelines
  • Fresh & airy: wildflower meadows, sunlit waterfalls, open alpine plateaus

Build a Captivating Gallery Wall

Mix your frames. Matte black, natural wood, and slim metal frames create depth and visual interest. Matching everything too closely can flatten the effect.

Plan your layout first. Sketch it on paper or use a digital mock-up before you put holes in the wall. A central large print with three or four supporting pieces, spaced 2–3″ apart, is a reliable formula.

Add organic accents. A woven wall hanging, a floating shelf with small botanicals, or a simple sculptural object alongside the frames gives the whole arrangement a more considered, lived-in feel.

3

Create a Statement Above Key Furniture

Get the height right. Hang prints 6–8″ above sofas, beds, or console tables, centred on the furniture's midpoint. Too high and the print floats; too low and it feels cramped.

Add directional lighting. A picture light or a directional sconce highlights the artwork after dark and draws attention to the image even when the rest of the room is dimly lit.

Layer in front of it. Float a shelf beneath the print and style it with travel books, small botanicals, or sculptural objects — this grounds the print and connects it to the rest of the room.

Think Beyond the Living Room

Bathroom. A serene waterfall or coastal scene beside the towels brings instant spa energy to a utilitarian room. Matte paper handles humid environments better than glossy alternatives.

Home office. A crisp mountain vista above the desk gives you somewhere to look when you need to think. It also signals something about how you work and what matters to you.

Hallway or entrance. The first thing people see when they walk through the door. A vibrant sunset or alpine reflection print sets the tone for the whole home and makes an immediate impression.

5

Maintain & Refresh Your Collection

Protect from direct sunlight. Afternoon sun fades ink over time. Position prints away from windows that receive direct light, or use UV-filtering glass when framing.

Clean gently. Dust frames with a microfibre cloth. If cleaning glass, spray the cloth rather than the glass itself — liquid near the edge of a frame can seep behind the print.

Rotate seasonally. Swap prints with the seasons — bright meadow scenes in spring, dramatic snowfields in winter. It costs nothing and keeps your space feeling fresh and intentional all year.

Styling Tip

One Print Can Change a Room

You don't need to redecorate. A single well-chosen print — the right image, the right size, in the right spot — is often all it takes to make a room feel complete. Start there and build from it.

Frequently Asked Questions
For a standard three-seat sofa, a print somewhere between 24×36″ and 30×40″ tends to work well — wide enough to feel anchored to the furniture without overpowering the wall. Hang it 6–8″ above the sofa back, centred on the sofa's midpoint. If you're unsure, cut a template from paper and tape it to the wall before committing.
All Chamonix prints are unframed. This keeps the price fair and lets you choose a frame that suits your space — whether that's matte black, natural oak, or slim metal. A framing guide is available on the site to help you find the right fit.
Yes — matte paper handles humidity better than glossy paper, which can warp or bubble over time. Keep prints away from direct steam (directly above a bath or hob) and make sure they're properly framed and sealed at the back. A coastal or waterfall scene in a bathroom works beautifully.
Matte paper eliminates most of the glare problem — it's one of the reasons we use it. If you're framing under glass, choose anti-reflective or UV-filtering glass rather than standard glazing. Position the print so direct light sources (lamps, windows) don't hit it straight on.
Start with your largest or most important print and build outward from there. Cut paper templates to the size of each frame, arrange them on the floor first until you're happy, then tape them to the wall before making any holes. Aim for consistent spacing — 2 to 3 inches between frames — and keep the visual centre of the arrangement at eye level (roughly 57–60 inches from the floor).
