Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Chamonix alpine terrain?

The rocky terrain above Chamonix provides both ibex habitat and clear sightlines to Mont Blanc (4,808m) above. At dawn, ibex move along the ridges while the highest peak in the Alps catches the first light — a combination that requires both the right location and the right timing to capture.

What does this print show?

The print captures an alpine ibex with Mont Blanc rising above it above Chamonix — the mountain animal and the highest peak in the Alps together in the early morning light.

How large do alpine ibex grow?

Male alpine ibex (bouquetins) are substantially larger than females, weighing up to 120 kilograms with horns that can reach 100 centimetres in length. The distinctive ridged, backward-curving horns are used in dominance contests during the rutting season in December and January. Females are lighter — typically 35–50 kg — with shorter, more slender horns. Both sexes have the characteristic thick winter coat that helps them survive at high altitude through the alpine winter.

What material is this print made from?

This print is made on 200gsm premium matte fine art paper using high-quality giclée printing, ensuring exceptional detail, vibrant tones, and long-lasting quality.

Is this print framed?

No — all prints are unframed to allow for your own custom framing choices. Frames shown in any preview images are for display purposes only.

What sizes are available?

WHY SHOP WITH US

Every print starts with a journey. Photographer Mark Fitzsimons has spent years chasing light across the Alps, the Dolomites, the Cliffs of Moher, and the landscapes of New Zealand, returning with images that capture not just what these places look like, but what it feels like to stand in them.

We started on Etsy over six years ago and built a community of customers across more than 30 countries, one honest review at a time. Every order is printed on FSC-certified 200gsm matte fine art paper, fulfilled locally, and packaged with care. One photographer, one camera, real places.
