The Glacier de Taconnez flows from the south-western flanks of Mont Blanc above Chamonix, visible from the lower valley and from the Bionnassay Ridge above Saint-Gervais. It is one of the smaller glaciers of the Mont Blanc Massif but displays the characteristic crevasse patterns and ice textures that make glacier photography so compelling.
